The gearbox shifts with jolts or a delay, the oil change is due, or you don't know if it has ever been changed. We drain the old oil, remove the sump and replace the filter and gasket if needed, refill with oil to the gearbox's specification and set the level with the gearbox warm. The job usually takes from two hours.

Can the oil be changed if it hasn't been done for a long time?

Yes, usually. Before the change we look at the colour and smell of the old oil and tell you if we see signs of gearbox wear.

Will the jolts go after the change?

Shifts often become smoother, but if the jolts come from gearbox wear, an oil change alone won't cure them. In that case we tell you what to check next.
