The engine idles unevenly, there is a whistle under the bonnet, or the control unit logs a lean mixture code. We feed smoke into the intake with the engine off and see where it escapes: hoses, manifold gaskets, throttle body, vacuum lines, crankcase ventilation. We show you the air leak in photos.

How long does the test take?
About an hour, including preparation and inspecting every joint.
Can the smoke harm the engine?
No, we run the test with the engine off, and the smoke escapes through the leaks and does not stay in the system.
What happens if the air leak is not fixed?
The engine runs lean: uneven idle, weaker pulling power and possibly higher fuel consumption. Over time the engine warning light comes on.
