High-Pressure Petrol Pump Replacement — with a pressure test

Your direct-injection engine is hard to start, jerks when accelerating, or the engine warning light is on with a fuel pressure fault. We release the pressure, remove the old pump, fit a new one with new seals and measure the pressure in the fuel rail. The job usually takes from an hour.

How is this pump different from a regular fuel pump?

The regular pump sits in the tank and supplies fuel to the engine. The high-pressure pump sits on the engine and raises the pressure for the direct-injection injectors.

Can I drive with a faulty pump?

We don't recommend it: the engine may go into limp mode or stall. If driving in is inconvenient, we can collect the car: free in DIP and nearby areas, from AED 100 elsewhere in Dubai.
