The exhaust has got louder, there is ticking or hissing under the car, or you smell exhaust fumes in the cabin. We feed smoke into the exhaust from the tailpipe end and see where it escapes: manifold, gaskets, flex pipe, welds and clamps. We show you the leak point in photos and videos.

How long does the test take?
About an hour. We lift the car and inspect the whole system from the manifold to the silencer.
Is an exhaust leak dangerous?
Yes, if the gases get into the cabin: they contain carbon monoxide. If you smell exhaust in the cabin, have the car checked as soon as possible.
Can the leak be welded?
Often yes, if the metal around it is sound. If the part has rotted through, we suggest a replacement and send photos.
