Boring is needed when the cylinder walls are worn or scored, and the engine is burning oil and losing compression. We clean the block, measure the cylinders, bore them to an oversize piston size and hone the walls. Before the work we send the measurements and agree the price.

How long does boring take?
Usually from one day per block. We quote the engine assembly time separately.
When is sleeving needed instead of boring?
When the oversizes are used up or a wall has deep scoring. A new sleeve is then fitted in the cylinder.
Which pistons are fitted after boring?
Oversize pistons: genuine or a quality alternative, your choice. We quote the price before the work starts.
