Power Steering Fluid Replacement — with the system bled
The steering has become heavier, the pump whines when you turn the wheel, or the fluid in the reservoir has darkened. We draw out the old fluid, refill with fluid that meets the manufacturer's specification and bleed the system to remove air. The job takes about an hour and is for cars with hydraulic power steering.

No, electric power steering has no fluid. If you're not sure which type your car has, we can tell you from the model.
How long does it take?
About an hour. You can wait at the workshop or leave the car with us.
What if the steering is still heavy afterwards?
Then the cause is not the fluid but the pump, rack or drive belt. We show you what we found and agree the repair; the initial diagnostics fee is credited if we do the repair.
